osteomyelitis, highlighted by a case
example where the alternative would have

Wound Management - Wound care has
always been a part of physical therapy
education and practice, however the
number of clinics taking advantage of this
dimension is still small. Adding physical
therapists and physical therapy assistants
utilizes an interdisciplinary approach and
adds a wide range of proven therapies
such as ES, US, PLWS, pneumatic
compression, therapeutic exercise (just to
name a few) that hae enormous benefit
in reducing time to heal. A holistic
discussion about what adding a PT to the
team does for a clinic and ultimately the
patient.

burden and distinguishing between
critical contamination and infection
8:55 - 9:25 am Burn Care in the Non -Burn Clinic -
Inevitably, sound clinics will treat minor
burns that do not require specialized
treatment in a burn clinic. What "pearls"
can a burn expert give health care
providers in such an environment about
proper acute and chronic handling of
minor burns, including ABA nomenclature
topical dressings and post healing
precautions?

the reality for provision of wound care in
rural parts of America? A presentation of
