Elizabeth Ayello, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, WOCN, FAPWCA, FAAN

Elizabeth Ayello, PhD, RN, ACNS- BC, WOCN, FAPWCA, FAAN, is an international expert in wound, ostomy and continence care. Dr. Ayello is a faculty member at Excelsior College and senior adviser to the John A. Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing in New York City, USA. She has served in many leadership positions including Board of Directors and 1999 President of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP), Chair of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) Accreditation Committee, co-chair of the 3rd World Union of Wound Healing Societies 2008 Toronto meeting, and as one of two nurse consultants to the US governmentl agency Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on their 3 year project to revise Tag F 314 on pressure ulcers. Dr. Ayello is the editor of the WCET Journal, Clinical Associate Editor for the interdisciplinary journal Advances in Skin and Wound Care, co editor of the award winning book “Wound Care Essentials: Practice Principles,” and the 2008 recipient of the John Boswick Memorial Award. |
