Joseph P. Cavorsi, MD
Joseph
P. Cavorsi, M.D., is a practicing general and vascular
surgeon since 1984. Dr. Cavorsi has been involved in the
treatment of advanced wound care since 1991. He is currently
the Medical Director of both in-patient and out-patient
wound care services, Director of the Department of Hyperbaric
Medicine, Director of Clinical Research in wound care
and Chief of General Surgery at St. Joseph Medical Center,
Reading, PA.
Dr. Cavorsi received his BS from Manhattan College,
Bronx, New York and a medical degree from The University
of Rome, Italy. He completed a straight surgical internship
and residency at Presbyterian Hospital, University of
Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA.
He has served on the medical faculty of the University
of Pennsylvania and University of Kentucky as clinical
instructor of surgery and currently acts as adjunct
instructor of surgery at the Philadelphia College of
Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa. and the University
of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford,
Maine.
Dr. Cavorsi is internationally recognized in the field of
wound care as a speaker, clinical researcher and consultant
to the wound care industry. He has published peer reviewed
journal articles, book chapters, educational medical
simulations and monographs with emphasis on minimally
invasive venous surgery, growth factor therapy and bio-engineered
skin equivalents.
He is a member of the Berks County Medical Society,
Pennsylvania Medical Society, Society of General Surgeons,
Charter Member of the Association for the Advancement
of Wound Care and Fellow of the American Professional
Wound Care Association.
