HarrietT Loehne, PT, DPT, CWS, FaCCWS

Dr. Loehne is a PT graduate of the University of North Carolina, DPT graduate of the University of the Pacific, a Certified Wound Specialist® through the American Academy of Wound Management, and a Fellow of the American College of Certified Wound Specialists.  She is the Clinical Educator at the Archbold Center for Wound Management and Hyperbaric Medicine, Archbold Medical Center, in Thomasville, GA.  

 

An active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), she was a recipient of the Professional Merit Award given by the Section on Clinical Electrophysiology and Wound Management (SCE&WM), APTA, and was a recipient of the NCPTA’s Excellence in Clinical Practice Award.  On the Executive Board of the SCE-WM, she is a founding member and current President of the Wound Management Special Interest Group.    She was featured on the front cover of the February 2007 issue of APTA’s PT Magazine.

 

Professional memberships include the American Academy of Wound Management as well as the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC), where she is a member of the Board of Directors, Chair of several committees, among them the Committee that produced and published brochures on ABC’S – Treatment of Minor Wounds, and was the recipient of the AAWC Distinguished Member Award.  In 2006 Harriett was selected to make the inaugural site visit to India with John Macdonald, MD, on behalf of the World Wound Care Alliance, an initiative of AAWC, in conjunction with Health Volunteers Overseas, to prepare for creating an educational module for Wound Management for the Christian Medical College in Vellore, a volunteer program of which she is now the Director.

 

Dr. Loehne teaches continuing education courses, is involved in clinical research, and is an international speaker and published author, including book chapters, on wound management topics.
