Joseph McCulloch, Ph.D., P.T., C.W.S.,
F.A.P.T.A.
Dr.
McCulloch is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia
and obtained graduate degrees from New York University
and the University of New Orleans. He began his professional
career in the United States Public Health Service. Following
tours of duty in New York City and New Orleans, he joined
the faculty of the School of Allied Health Professions
at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. Soon after his
employment with LSUHSC, he relocated to Shreveport where
he opened the physical therapy educational program and
served as Director of Rehabilitation Services at University
Hospital. In 1997, he was promoted to Assistant Dean
for Clinical Affairs and later to Executive Associate
Dean for Shreveport affairs. In 2004, Dr. McCulloch
was appointed as the first Dean of the School of Allied
Health Professions at LSU Health Sciences Center in
Shreveport. Dr. McCulloch's clinical and research interests are
in the treatment of lower extremity wounds with a particular
interest in individuals with diabetes. He has lectured
on wound care nationally and internationally for the
past 20 years. He is co-editor of a textbook entitled
Wound Healing: Alternatives in Management, now in its
3rd edition, and has authored numerous articles in professional
journals. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy
of Wound Management and in 2002, was honored as a Catherine
Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy
Association. |
